BUHL

Evelyn Marion Norton Murray, 103, passed away November 7, 2020, at River Rock Assisted Living in Buhl, Idaho.

Evelyn was born August 29, 1917, in West Haven, Ct., to Harry and Esther Norton.  As a child she and her parents moved to the Phoenix area for 7 years.  It was there that she fell in love with the desert.  She graduated from Hill House High School, New Haven, Ct., in 1935, going to work for the railroad and as a comptometer operator soon after.

She married the love of her life, Leonard Murray, in 1942.  She became a stay-at-home mom after they started their family.  In 1959, they moved with their 3 children to Fresno, Ca.  In later years she worked in a school cafeteria until they retired and moved to Buhl, to be closer to their daughter.  They became active members of the Buhl United Methodist Church and the Good Sam Club.

Evelyn loved God, her family, flowers (especially sweet peas), cactus and the Boston Red Sox.  They have lost their greatest fan.

Surviving Evelyn is her sister Jean Gollinger of Ct., daughter and son-in-law Midge and Marvin Bartosovsky of Buhl, Ron Murray of Bass Lake, Ca., grandchildren Pam (Chad) Maxton and Gretchen (Brian) Perkins of Caldwell, Melissa (Jamie) Allen of Buhl, and Jennifer (Mike) Lee of Meridian, Id., Dean Murray of Ca., and David (Veronica) Murray of Az. Great-grandchildren Leah Maxton Renner (Caleb), Jon Maxton, Ethan and Corinne Perkins, Jackson Allen, Ellie, Olivia and Finn Lee, and Michael and Matthew Murray.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Robert Murray.

There are no services planned at this time.  Memorials may be made to the Buhl United Methodist Church or Idaho Home Health and Hospice.  Special thanks to all the staff at River Rock and Hospice nurses Grace and Terry and assistants and Pastor Paul.  Thanks, also, to all those who visited her, called or sent cards.
