Linda Smith

February 2, 1957 — March 4, 2022

TWIN FALLS

There aren’t enough words to truly express the essence of who Linda was and what our mother Linda meant to all that knew her and loved her. She was truly one of a kind, a confidant, and a best friend. She was a gentle, kind, generous, and loving soul. She held many titles: Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandma, Aunt, and Friend. She even got to be a Grandma Great, which was one of her favorites. She wore her heart on her sleeve and loved you for who you were unconditionally. Once you were in her heart you were there forever. She had a twinkle in her eyes, a sparkle in her smile, and an infectious laugh that we’ll never forget. When she laughed the whole room would join in. She made you a better person, just knowing her, I know she impacted me in more ways than she will ever know, and there will forever be a piece of me missing.

There is never a right time to say goodbye to a loved one, you expect them to always be there. Even when you know the time is fastly approaching you are never truly prepared. Losing a mother is an unsurmountable, indescribable, excruciating pain. Your heart is shattered into a million different pieces. As time goes on the pieces will begin to mend themselves back together but they will never quite fit correctly anymore. No words can describe the hole that is left in our family now, she was the glue that held us all together. We ask that you wrap your arms around us and hold us tightly while we work through losing you Mom as it is the hardest thing we have had to endure.

March 4th will take on a new meaning for our family. I believe it was the final lesson she had for us all. We will need to “march forth” in life carrying her love for us in our hearts, always remembering her kindness, compassion, empathy, and gratitude for life, to live our lives to the fullest, and to only look back with fond memories. Although she is no longer here with us we know that she will always be with us in spirit, cheering us on looking down from above. Until we meet again we’ll be loving you and missing you each and every day.

Linda Sue Smith, 65, was born Linda Sue Buschhorn on February 2nd, 1957 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Virginia and Lynn Henry Buschhorn she gained her angel wings on March 4th, 2022, at her son’s residence in Filer, ID after enduring a long battle with Kidney Failure. She went in for routine surgery to fix her fistula and had a reaction to the anesthesia, she was resuscitated and she fought hard to fully come back to us, but it was ultimately too much pain for her to endure and she was called back to heaven above.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lynn and Virginia Buschhorn, sister Janet Maxwell, brother Michael Lance and her husband of twenty-nine years John “Jack” Earl Smith as well as many other friends, family members, and animals.

Linda was everyone’s Mom, Aunt, or Grandma as she had a very special connection with our friends as well, she treated them as her own. Her heart and her home were always open. I know she loved each of you very much, there are so many of you to mention, you all know who you are and how much you meant to her. Thank you for loving our mom as much as we did.

Linda is survived by her four children: Marshall (Adele), Kristopher (Jessika), Laura (Emanuel), and Amanda (Chase), two sisters-in-law: Cindy and Connie (Tom), and many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly as well as the most precious to her heart her grandchildren: Asha, Jayce, Baylee, Alikah, Kylynn, Alexander, Jakob, Nevaeh, Wyatt, Dakota, Kehlani, Nayeli, Mauricio, KaysieLyn, Zafar and her Great Grandson, Asha’s son, Draygen. As well as her “Fat Cat” Archie. She held on as long as she could awaiting the arrival of the newest edition to the family, Dakota’s daughter Sapphire Emberly, however, we know she will be there in spirit as she makes her entrance into the world, for she is now our Guardian Angel.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Davita Dialysis Center in Twin Falls, for taking care of our mother for the past 10 years. To the residents of the Devon Senior Apartments for your friendships throughout the nine years, she lived there. To the drivers of A to B Transport for taking her to her dialysis appointments for the last three years since our father passed, and for calling to check in on her when she wasn’t there for pick up. To St. Luke’s Home Health and Magic Valley Hospital doctors and nursing staff, thank you for all you did to care for our mother, especially the last few weeks, thank you for treating her with dignity and showing us compassion. A special thank you to Beth and Sarah. You have no idea how much your kindness meant to us.

The family asks that you each celebrate Linda in your own way, light a candle and share a special memory you have of her. Linda did not wish for a traditional funeral. She asked for a small celebration of life with those she held dearest. Please know that we all love and appreciate you all, thank you to all that have reached out to us in our time of need.
