Pennie Stauffer

May 12, 1951 — May 28, 2019

BUHL

Pennie Mae Techick Beverland Stauffer was born May 12, 1951 in Arco, Idaho to Ed and Rubie Techick, with five siblings, Terrell, Teresa, Sheila, Tracie, and JoEllen.

Pennie attended first and second grade at Colbalt in Salmon, moved to Pocatello and attended school at the Fort Hall, then they traveled to Soda Spring, they eventually moved back to Arco.

Pennie started working at the age of 12 at the Club Café washing dishes and Pennie learned the value of hard work while she lived with her Mom and Clyde Beaverland on the family farm. Pennie picked many potatoes for Clyde. Pennie graduated in 1969 from Butte County High school in Arco, where she met many friends that she is still close to.  While living in Dubois, she worked at Beavercreek tying the potato sacks. She picked #1 and #2 potatoes; she would tell Rob she would have to wrap her fingers with tape so they didn’t get so sore.  Pennie moved to Hagerman, where she worked at the Road Runner, and the Flagger, an indoor swimming pool that Pennie enjoyed and made many friends. Pennie, and the love of her life, Robert, were Married February 13, 1981. From this marriage, five beautiful children joined their family, Dax, Tisa, Dechele, Destrey, and BJ.

Pennie, being the mother that she was, opened her home to a number of kids who needed a place to go and they always felt wanted and loved. The love she shared with those people still continues to this day.

Pennie and Rob shared a beautiful home in Arco, where Pennie mothered many kids, some not her own. Even during the summers they would load up the family, friends and kids to enjoy the annual trip to Redfish Lake.

Pennie was a valued employee at the Golden West Café and the Mello dee Club bar, where she developed great relationships with her bosses and clientele. Hard work was not a deterrent to her. She enjoyed volunteering her time helping kids at the elementary school in Arco.

She spent a lot of time seeing her kids and grandkids. Her and Rob often made trips, no matter the distance, to be there for events or just to visit. She thoroughly enjoyed any time she spent with her family, and usually brought gifts. Anywhere she went she brought her happiness that filled the room. Even on her bad days she was joking and lightening the mood. There was not a single day that she was not trying to make life better for everyone around her. Everyone from her sibling to her grandkids were inspired by her selfless and unconditional love.  She was always ready to defend and fight for the ones she loved and for the underdog.

Pennie is survived by her husband, Rob Stauffer; daughters, Tisa Cudmore, Dechele (Dave) Nelson, BJ (Ashley) Stauffer; grandkids, Quade, Dax and Marshall Nelson, Tyler and Alexa Cudmore, Bella and Journey Stauffer and one on the way.

Pennie is preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, Terrell Techick; sisters, Teresa Techick, and Tracy Blattner, and the loves of her life Dax and Destrey.
