Steve Drown

Steve Rosswell Drown, 58, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021, after a short battle with cancer. Steve was born May 31, 1963 to Ross and Maxine Drown. He attended school in Filer, Idaho, where he graduated from high school in 1981. He continued his education at the College of Southern Idaho where he earned an associate degree in Diesel Mechanics.

Steve was always a hard worker and took great pride in any project or job he was given. He was a jack-of-all trades holding many jobs farming, owning and operating the family dairy, working in irrigation, and raising bean seed for the University of Idaho. He had a love for nature. He had a vast knowledge of plants, grew incredible gardens, and enjoyed tending trees with his arborist training. He had a profound love for animals and raised many different creatures throughout the years.

Steve loved to stay busy and always found a value in every item he came in contact with. This allowed his family the joy of fondly calling him a "collector". Steve feigned gruffness, but we all know he was just a big teddy bear. If he gave you a bad time, you knew he loved you. He was a gentle soul that will be missed by all who knew him.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of over 36 years, Ellen; mother, Maxine; brother, Terry and his wife Debbie; sisters, Karleen and Tammy; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Chojnacky; multiple nieces and nephews, one great niece, several aunts and uncles, and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ross Drown; father-in-law, Alvin Chojnacky; grandparents, George and Ruth Drown; grandmother, Faye Drown; grandparents, William and Nelda Miller; and various aunts and uncles.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the First Christian Church, 1005 Poplar Street, Buhl, with his nephew, Mitch Drown, officiating.
