Albert Leonard Eriksen

Albert Leonard “Abe” Eriksen, 89, passed away in Twin Falls, on July 30, 2026.

He was born on January 28, 1937, to Snorre and Ingeborg (Kamrud) Eriksen, in Twin Falls, Idaho. His family lived northeast of Buhl, and he attended the Northview Country School until third grade. His family moved to Twin Falls for a few years. His parents bought a farm northeast of Buhl, and he graduated from Buhl High School in 1956. While in high school, he was active in FFA and was the club’s president his senior year.

He was drafted into the US Army. After attending basic training in Fort Ord, CA, and Seattle, he was assigned to the 6th Infantry Division and served in Berlin. After two years of service, he returned to Buhl to farm with his dad.

He married Patricia (Pat) Marlow in Buhl, on May 27, 1962, and has resided and farmed northeast of Buhl since then.

He became a Shriner in 1975 and was an active member and past president of the Oasis Shrine Club in Buhl. He served on the Twin Falls County Planning and Zoning Commission from 1984 to 1988 and was a member of the VFW in Buhl.

He cherished his Norwegian heritage and the numerous visits from his aunts and cousins. He traveled to Norway several times.

Abe farmed with his son, Larry, for over 20 years. He was very social and loved to be around people. He needed his daily "fix of conversation" with friends and neighbors.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Buhl.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Eriksen; four children, Denice (Rick) Haener, Boise; Larry Eriksen, Buhl; Mark (Monica) Eriksen, Eagle, Idaho; and Lori (Darren) Turner, Orofino, Idaho. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren – Sarah (Bryce Beeson) Haener, Steven Haener, Claire Haener, Olivia Haener, Tianna Eriksen, Dylan Eriksen, Hallie (Frank) Newman, Ethan Eriksen, Brody Eriksen, Kalob (Melanie) Turner, and Gabe (Bryton) Turner; and 3 step-grandchildren – Alisha Carpenter, Cody Carpenter, and Casey Carpenter. He has three great-children, Luna Turner, Weston Newman, and Eleanor Beeson. Two sisters, Norma Blass and Eileen Tetz, also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry Eriksen; grandson, Patrick Haener; and sisters, Betty Cobb and Martha Shaver.

The funeral service will be held Friday, August 7, 2026, 10:00 a.m. at First Christian Church, 1005 Poplar St., Buhl, with viewing one hour prior to service. A reception will immediately follow the service.
