Bernice Grindstaff

Bernice F. Grindstaff peacefully passed away on May 23, 2013 with her loving family by her side.
She was born September 23, 1919 in Twin Falls to William and Jessie Walker. She graduated from Filer High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Harvey Grindstaff in 1937 and they enjoyed 66 years together. They spent most of their lives farming in the Cedar Draw area where they were active members of the community. She enjoyed dancing, camping, swimming, traveling and going to Arizona for the winters. She loved her family unconditionally and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Cedar Draw Grange, Women's Club and Clear Lake Country Club.
A special love of hers was the Twin Falls County Fair. She enjoyed all aspects of the Fair especially working with the Cedar Draw Grange decorating and arranging the annual produce display with their many good friends.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, her parents and two brothers.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Joyce) Grindstaff of Buhl; daughter, Marilyn (Joe) Hulse of Buhl; grandchildren, Cally Grindstaff of Twin Falls, Will (Olga) Grindstaff of Bremerton, Wa., David (Roland) Grindstaff of Portland, Or., Tacy (Todd) Lind of Beaverton, Or., Ron (Cheryl) Hulse of Buhl, Terry Clayton of Hillsboro, Or. and Melody (John) Cameron of Twin Falls; many special great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Filer United Methodist Church (5th and Union Street) in Filer. A time for viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the service at the church. The family suggests donations be made in her name to the Twin Falls County Fair Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl.
