Beverly Lyon Bartlett
September 14, 1937 - July 23, 2018

Beverly Lyon Bartlett never met a horse she didn't like and she was no stranger to hard work. She was the oldest of two children born on September 14, 1937 to Darrel and Mildred Green Lyon. Beverly graduated from Buhl High School and continued to work on the family ranch in Melon Valley until she went peacefully in her sleep on July 23, 2018.

Beverly raised four children and enjoyed watching them ride in horse events from riding clubs to gymkhanas to rodeos. She spent countless hours driving her children to jamborees and riding competitions whether it was Murtaugh, Oakley, Hagerman, etc. Some of her favorite times were when she was in an adult riding group in Buhl as well as watching her children participate in the pig/chicken scramble at Hagerman's Annual Pioneer Days rodeo. Beverly would load the kids up with her mom in the station wagon with a picnic lunch for the day away from the ranch. Most Sunday afternoons Beverly could be found at Alma Morrison's arena cheering on the contestants and yelling loudest for her children during the competitions. She spent many hours riding her favorite horse and companion Frosty even though she had to use a barrel or something to climb aboard. Beverly would go out irrigating with her horse Frosty; however, often Frosty managed to get away arriving back at the house long before she made her way back to the house in her irrigating boots with shovel in hand.

Besides watching her children grow up, Beverly thoroughly enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in sporting events. One of her favorite times was when all the grandchildren went to Soldier Mountain to learn how to ski. She laughed so hard as they managed the bunny hill. She enjoyed babysitting them while the parents were at work, school or out for the evening. Beverly loved to hear about her grandchildrens' accomplishments and often snipped articles out of the Buhl Herald whenever they were mentioned.

Beverly worked hard and instilled a strong work ethic in her children. She managed multiple jobs including milking cows, irrigating, working at Circle K (until it was robbed while she was working on the graveyard shift) and working on the corn line at Seneca. However, her heart was home on the family ranch. She enjoyed being outdoors with her horses and dogs. Along with her strong connection to the outdoors, Beverly enjoyed visiting with her friends from the church and listening to the sermons.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents Darrel and Mildred Lyon and her brother Lavel (Buzz) Lyon. She is survived by her children, Rocky Bartlett (Joyce), Kelly Bartlett, Letha Bartlett and Toni Janssen; and by her grandchildren, Daniel Bartlett(who spent countless days and nights by her side), Anthony Bartlett, Fred Bartlett (Chelsey), Trevor Dyer (Morgan), Brandy Rodig Wetherbee (TJ), Ryan Blick (Arlena) and Larissa Blick. Beverly is survived by her great grandchilden, Wynter, Maximus, Quincy and Brooklyn and two step- great grandchildren, Gage and Cordell.
