Bruce Andrew Holderreed
March 12, 1943 ~ August 25, 2025
Bruce Andrew Holderreed, 82, of Buhl, Idaho, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025. He was born on March 12, 1943, in Olympia, Washington, to Andrew and Louise Holderreed, who preceded him in death.
Bruce spent much of his childhood in India, where his parents served as missionaries, an experience that shaped his faith and outlook on life. He later attended McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas, and later earned his teaching certificate through Central Washington University, Ellensburg, Washington. After Bruce and Rena married, they relocated with their five children to Filer, Idaho, where he dedicated 25 years to the Filer Schools as both a teacher and a member of the IT department.
A devoted member of The Church of the Brethren, Bruce actively served in the Twin Falls congregation. His leadership extended beyond the local community as he faithfully served as District Executive and on the General Board for the national church. His deep faith and service-oriented spirit left a lasting impact on those he worked alongside.
Beyond his professional and church commitments, Bruce’s greatest passion was the land he cared for and the animals he loved. Whether splicing fruit trees, gathering eggs, or tending to his beloved horses and mules, he found joy and fulfillment in the simple rhythms of farm life.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Lurena Holderreed; five stepchildren, John Woods, Faron Woods, Kathryn Bausman, Rose Maulden, and Melissa Torgerson; his sisters, Mary Early and Margie Ullom; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His legacy will live on through his family, his faith, and the countless lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held at Twin Falls Church of the Brethren, 461 Filer Ave. West, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301 – Saturday August 30, 22025 @ 2:00 pm.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Bruce's memorial webpage at www.farmerfuneralchapel.com.
