Charles Quinton

Charles Elzo Quinton, age 94, of Buhl, Idaho passed away Friday, November 23, 2012. He was born August 22, 1918 in Taylor, Bonneville County, Idaho. He was the 3rd of 5 children born to Oliver Charles and Mary Elvira Lords Quinton. According to Grandpa, he grew up as normal farm boys do.
Charles met the love of his life, Dorothy Snarr, and they were married for time and all eternity; on his birthday - August 22, 1939, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and enjoyed 72 years together. They were the proud parents of 1 daughter and 3 sons.
Charles & Dorothy farmed and trucked in the Idaho Falls area before leaving in 1958 when they moved to Buhl to continue farming. They later moved to Ketchum, where they owned & operated a motel. Their next adventure was to go back to Twin Falls and finally returning to Buhl to farm and settle down. After several ventures of their own, Charles was hired to farm for Ted Sandmeyer for about 30 years until he retired in 1995.
Charles was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various church positions in Scouting, the Aaronic Priesthood and Seventies. He was secretary of the Genealogy Committee and served a Stake Mission with his wife, Dorothy.
Charles is survived by his four children, Mel Quinton of Buhl, Delores (Larry) Baggett of Buhl, Wendell (Alysmay) Quinton of Reno, NV., and Ernie (Sue) Quinton of Hansen; 11 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, his parents, 1 brother, 3 sisters, and one granddaughter, Kimberly Jean Quinton.
Charles loved working outdoors. He loved his family and cherished his wife, Dorothy. He had a strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at the Fair St. L.D.S. Church in Buhl. A viewing for friends and family will be 5 - 7 p.m. Thurs. Nov. 29 at Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl and one hour prior to the service, Friday, at the church.
