Connie Collins of Buhl passed away on March 14, 2025. She was born June 24, 1941, in Compton, California. After graduating from Compton High School, Connie married her first husband, Gary Lucas and they had 4 children together. The marriage dissolved after 25 years. Then Connie met and married the love of her life, Joe Collins.
During her work life she worked as an inspector at Brockway Glass in Pomona, CA and then test-driving cars at ATDS in Ontario, CA.
After retirement, Connie and Joe followed their close friends, Terry and Janet Bivens and relocated to Buhl, Idaho. Their time living in Buhl was the happiest time of their lives. They became part of the Idaho community at the local Senior Center, the Catholic church and with their neighbors.
They loved having company to share the beauty of Buhl with their family and friends.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; Raymond and Beatrice Valencia; siblings; Barbara Kleinberg and Raymond Valencia Jr; and her son, Gary Lucas Jr.
She is survived by her children; Linda Kennedy (Stephen), Debra Udan, David Lucas (Randi) and stepchildren; Laura Windsor (John), and Patrick Collins. She had 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her niece, Janice Kleinberg, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Connie will be interred at West End Cemetery in Buhl alongside her loving husband, Joe who recently passed away from cancer.
