Connie Sparks

Connie Newman Sparks, 74, of Buhl, Idaho passed away peacefully and returned to her Heavenly home on Saturday, February 26, 2022. She was born December 25, 1947 to Carl and Ellen Thueson Newman, of Twin Falls.

People always felt sorry for her being born on Christmas Day, but her parents made her birthday special and had a separate birthday celebration. Like her father Carl Newman, Connie retired from the United States Postal Service after a 30-year career. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in Young Women’s, as Relief Society President, as Primary President, Nursery Leader, Sunday School teacher, and since she was fifteen, a pianist/organist in all of the church organizations as well as playing for funerals, weddings, and Kiwanis Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carla Adams; infant brothers, Todd Eric and Shawn Kevin; and a grandson, Tylan Houston. She is survived her husband, Bob Sparks of Buhl, Idaho; son, Robert (Tracey) Sparks of Plano, Texas; daughter, Becky (Larry) Houston of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Terry (Janet) Newman of Twin Falls, Idaho; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Connie’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022 with a viewing starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 101 Fair Street Avenue, Buhl. Family and friends are invited to attend. A private family graveside will be held at Snake River Canyon National Cemetery.
