Hyrum Dan Orr "Danny" passed away with his loved ones by his side at his home in Buhl, Idaho after his long battle with cancer. He was very much loved and will be missed greatly by his wife, children, grandchildren, large extended family, and friends.
Danny was born in Wendell, Idaho and grew up in a loving family of 10 children in Jerome. He joined the National Guard at the age of 17, then went into the Navy and headed to Vietnam for two years. After returning from Vietnam, he joined the Army Reserve with a few years left of active duty to finish up his 22 years of service.
In 1980, Danny started working for the United States Post Office as a mail carrier. He worked at the post office for 30 years. Nine years in Twin Falls and the rest in Buhl as the city route 1 carrier. He liked his job but loved his customers he would always say.
He leaves behind his wife and sweetheart, Suzanne Orr; he also leaves five children and five grandchildren: Jason (Tara) Orr, and their sons, Gavin and Noah of Eire, Colorado; Michael Orr of Buhl, Idaho; Scott (Crystal) Orr, and their daughters, Zoe and Cadence of Emmett, Idaho; Vincent (Christa) Orr of Buhl, Idaho; and Samantha Orr, and her son Landon of Buhl, Idaho.
Danny loved life and his family very much. There are no words to describe their loss, but they all get great comfort in knowing that our Lord and Savior has wrapped his loving arms around him and taken him home.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, February 22, 2021 at the First Christian Church, 1005 Poplar St., Buhl, with a viewing one hour prior to the service.
