Dixie Stout

December 20, 1939 — December 23, 2014

Dixie Mae Stout, 75, of Buhl, was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, due to complications from surgery.

Dixie was born to Lorus and Carrie McMurdie of Castleford, Idaho. She attended schools in Castleford and worked along side of her brother and sisters on the family farm. She married Jim Mitchell and they moved to Gilbert Arizona. They were blessed with four children, Michael, Tammy, David and Joey. Dixie loved working for the Gilbert Arizona School District and was employed there until her retirement.

Dixie and Jim divorced and she later met her soul mate Austin Stout in Yuma, Arizona. After their marriage they moved to Buhl, Idaho to be close to her family. Dixie loved gardening and her roses. She loved cooking and canning and especially her family. She adored her children and grandchildren; there wasn't anything she wouldn't have done for them. She and Austin took at least two trips to Arizona each year and sometimes would go with her step-son, Tom. Dixie loved shopping and going to the movies each week with her sister, Kerin and playing Pinochle with her sister, Donna.

Dixie never cared much for dogs, but in early 2014 she and Austin adopted a small Yorkshire terrier named Marley and they both fell in love with Marley.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Lorus and Carrie McMurdie, sister, Gladys and her granddaughter Nicole.

Survivors include her husband, Austin, children; Michael Mitchell of Phoenix, Arizona, Tammy (Richard) Miller of Michigan, David Mitchell (Kathy) of Maricopa, Arizona, Joey Mitchell of Colorado, Thomas Stout, Clarice Corthell, Donna (Ernie) Crowley and Kerin (Ralph) DuBois all of Buhl, Glen (Linda) McMurdie of Yuma, Ariz. Survivors also include numerous Grand children and great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the LDS Church on Fair Street in Buhl. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the Church. Grave side services will be at the West End Cemetery in Buhl.
