Doris Meta Corson (nѐe Alpers), born September 17, 1931, in Hay Creek, Minnesota, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 15, 2026. First and foremost, was her love for her husband, children and grandchildren. Her hobbies included quilting, church activities, square dancing, cooking and master gardening. Having lived in Buhl with her son and daughter-in-law for the past 7 and a half years, Doris loved to watch the birds at the feeders outside her window and spend her days in front of the sunny windows, enjoying memories of her late husband of 70 years, Philip Forrest Corson. Doris loved receiving phone calls and visits from all her family members living across the Northwest and East Coast United States, as well as Canada.
Doris grew up in Southern Minnesota with four brothers and a sister, enjoying life on a small farm near the Parochial school where her father taught. She met Philip Forrest Corson (Phil) while at a roller-skating church event and later in 1952, they married and moved to Fort Scott in San Francisco, California. After Phil retired from his Forest Service career in 1983, they spent many happy years volunteering in the congregation of First Lutheran Church in Placerville, CA. Phil and Doris built a residence on a two-acre apple orchard in Camino, where they enjoyed several years of using the apples in various ways to the enjoyment of their children, grandchildren, and community. In 2018, they then moved to live with their son, Bruce and wife Mary in Buhl, Idaho. After Christmas 2025, Doris received additional care and support for two and a half months at Grace Assisted Living in Twin Falls.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Philip Forrest Corson, and five siblings. Doris is survived by her children Kathleen and Dennis (Poehlmann), Bruce and Mary, Glen and Kim, Kevin and Brenda, Elizabeth and Cliff (Smith), as well as sixteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.
