Duane Keith Meissner AKA (Smiley, Mouse, Moose, Honey, Dad, Grandpa D and Grandpa Meissner).
Duane passed away April 9, 2017 at home with his family close. He was born January 12, 1951 to Ray and Elaine Meissner in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Duane enjoyed working for Marilyn (Umiker) and Jim Shrader while in high school, and many years after. He graduated from Buhl High School with the class of 1969. Duane married Marsha Monroe in 1971. He began employment with the Coors Brewing Company as supervisor of their barley elevator in Burley. Duane was a volunteer fireman with the Buhl and Burley Fire Departments and retired after 25 dedicated years.. Immediately following retirement from Coors Duane carried on with his passion for golf. This led him to Mesquite, Nevada, where he obtained employment at the Oasis Golf Course and enjoyed golfing with new friends in a warmer climate. They resided until 2011 when he and Marsha returned to the Buhl area where he obtained part-time employment at the Clear Lakes Country Club and enjoyed re with old friends. Duane enjoyed fishing, hunting, picking local fruits, vegetables and canning. Duane was a skilled and inventive craftsman who created many useful items for his family and the golf courses he enjoyed.
Surviving Duane is his wife, Marsha of 45 years, sons:Jake (Cass), Torre (Narah), Chad. Grandchildren, Isley and great grandson Garion, Asher, Siennah, Raylee, Jocelyn, Turin and Lydia. Sister, Barbara (Roger) Zago, two special aunts, Dolly Larragan and Darlene Pavelka. A special niece, Amber and nephew Josh and many, many dear cousins near and far.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Elaine, his brother, Gary, special cousin, Butch (Red) Montgomery, grandparents on both his mother and father's side, aunts and uncles on his mother's side and many dear friends.
The family would like to thank Horizon Home Health and Hospice for their caring compassion and especially Daniel, Samantha, and Jennifer for their help in our time of need.
A graveside service for Duane will be held the morning of April 22nd for family. Please join us beginning at 4:00 P.M. April 22 at the Clear Lake Country Club in Buhl for dinner and visiting. Duane loved food and friends and family. Let us remember him and enjoy the camaraderie of friendship and life.
