Earl Wade Quigley of Buhl, Idaho passed away in Twin Falls on May 7, 2026, at the age of 98. He was born on June 30, 1927, in Jarbidge, Nevada to Earl Quigley and Thelma Gough.
Wade joined the BSA at age 12 and developed a love for fishing, hiking, camping and rafting. He served as scout leader for 38 consecutive years. At age 61 he was presented with the highest-ranking Silver Beaver Award.
Throughout high school, he was active in football, basketball, track, band, chorus, drama and speech clubs. Wade was inducted into the Army and trained to become a surgical technician. By his deployment time, the war had ended. He was given an honorable discharge and under the GI bill enrolled in the Agricultural College in Logan, Utah.
He met Eileen Blackmer at a dance during one of his weekends at home. They fell in love and were soon married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 26, 1947. He was employed for 45 years at Pet Milk as the quality control manager. After his retirement, he sold real estate for Robert Jones Realty.
Wade was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities including Scout Master, Bishop, High Councilman and Boise Temple worker. Wade and Eileen served two full-time missions for the church in the Washington Seattle Mission and the Ft. Lauderdale Florida Mission.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, his parents, brother Mickey and daughter, Becky (Ron) Rhead. He is survived by his sons; Dale (Betty Jo) Quigley, Randy (Lori) Quigley and daughters, Jane (Kendell) Strong and Patricia (David) Murray.
Funeral services will be held on May 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 501 Main Street with interment following at the West End Cemetery in Buhl.
