Edna Herrick - Buhl

Our dear mom, Edna Herrick, passed away suddenly at her home in Buhl on July 24, 2013.

She was born on June 14, 1922 to Otto and Beatrice Warren Johnson. Mom loved being born on Flag Day and would laugh and tease people that all the flags were raised in honor of her birthday. She had a quick wit and a loving and caring personality, her family and many good friends will truly miss her.

She married Russell Herrick and they had four children. She lived her entire life in Buhl and Castleford. Mom worked at the school lunch program in Buhl when her youngest started school. After her retirement, she both worked and volunteered at the Buhl Senior Center.

She was always on the go, even at 91 she loved to play any kind of game, especially pinochle. She would sit for hours and play with friends or relatives. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Buhl.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Elsie Young, Virgene Johnson; foster brother, Bill Dumar. Two of her children also passed before her, Janet, who died shortly after birth and David died in 1995. Grandson, Gene Pope passed away in 2012 and nephew Duane Young died in 2011.

She is survived by daughters, Elaine (Jack) Pope, Anita (Rudy) Pazer; granddaughters, La Nan Pope Stigen, Katy Herrick Lake; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; nephew, Larry Young and niece, Justine Gossett both of Twin Falls.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Buhl Quick Response or Buhl Senior Center.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 31st at Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl. A viewing will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 30th at Farmer Funeral Chapel.
