Ernest Johnson

March 7, 1941 — April 26, 2018

Ernest Arthur Johnson, of Buhl Idaho, passed away on April 26, 2018 at the age of 77. Ernest was born in Seymore, Missouri on March 7, 1941 to Elva and Erma Johnson. Ernest is survived by two sisters; Fay Hinkley and Kathy Morris, and one brother; Norman Johnson. Ernest was preceded in death by his loving wife Donna, his parents and three brothers; Howard, Teddy and Kenneth.
Ernest’s first marriage to Vonda resulted in the birth of their loving daughter Sherry of Caldwell.
His second marriage to the love of his life, Donna Johnson, made him a part of a family that feels incredibly blessed to claim him as their own. Donna’s three children; Bret, Brenda and Ben all cherish Ernest as their father and are thankful for every moment spent with him.
Grandpa Ernie was blessed with so many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren but he held a very special place in his heart for His Girl, Alycia who held him in equally high esteem.
Ernest made his living as a truck driver but enjoyed spending his free time hunting, fishing, napping and smokin’. He was always up for an adventure with the kids. From hiding the Easter eggs to getting ‘refills’ at the gas station before taking the Datsun on a fishing trip, Grandpa Ernie is responsible for so much joy in the lives of so many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
We would all like to thank Ernest’s nieces, Heather and Ashley, and his nephew, Tommy for being able to care for him in his final days.
A Memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church in Buhl at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday the 26th of May, followed by a lunch reception. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation (www.ifwf.org).
