BUHL

Gerald “Ger” Lee Combs was born on September 29, 1939, in Clayton, Idaho. He passed away at his home on January 17, 2024.

Ger was the third of three sons born to Cullen “Red” and Lola Combs. He lived in Clayton and Hailey, Idaho and later New Mexico until ultimately finishing high school in Bingham, Utah. Utah was where he met Leila Randall and after they were married, they had two children, Mark and Traci.

Ger joined the United States Marine Corps and he and Leila lived in San Diego, California, but eventually moved back to Lark, Utah. He worked at Hercules Powder as well as the U.S. Lark Mine before moving to Copperton, Utah, where he worked at the Kennecott Copper Mine.

After moving to Castleford and having various jobs, he eventually partnered with his brother-in-law to purchase the King & Harts bar that he continued to operate for many years.

Although in time Ger and Leila divorced, they remained close, and the family was together for gatherings and holiday events.

Ger was preceded in death by his parents, Lola and Red Combs; and two brothers, Dickie and Don Combs.

He is survived by his daughter, Traci (Doug) Easterday of Lovelock, Nevada; son Mark (Mickey) Combs of Twin Falls, Idaho; former wife Leila Combs of Castleford, Idaho; four grandchildren, Sarah Combs, Jessica Starr, Zack Easterday, and Samantha Easterday; and four great grandchildren, Damien Starr, Haydn Starr, Preston Starr, and Bennett Combs.
