Geraldine Creek

Geraldine Louella Creek, age 93 passed away quietly, surrounded by her family. Gerri, (Fonder) Creek was born in Sisseton, South Dakota on February 19, 1919 as the 10th of 13 children to parents, John and Albertina Fonder. Gerri grew up in Sisseton, later moving to Nebraska and then to Washington state in 1941with her husband Clarence Hodge and their two sons, Donald and Clarence, Jr. Gerri was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Hodge, their son, Clarence Joseph Hodge and granddaughter Jimmie Lynn Hodge, her second husband Bill Creek and 11 of her siblings.
Gerri was hired by Boeing Aerospace Company in Seattle and worked more than 25 years, until her retirement. Gerri met and married James "Bill" Creek in 1974. In their years together they enjoyed a wide variety of activities including building and managing their own apartments, traveling and enjoying dancing of all kinds. Bill Creek died in 1986. Gerri later moved to Buhl, Idaho to join her son, Don and his wife Marlene and granddaughter, Katheryn.
Gerri was the treasured mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great- grandmother to her family; son, Donald Hodge and his wife Marlene of Buhl ID; four Grandchildren Katheryn Weiss of Buhl ID; Ronald (Sharon) Hodge, of Seattle WA, Patricia (Michael) Zuck, of Billings, Mon., Jimmie Lynn Hodge (deceased). Gerri has 9 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her only sibling, Elaine Norton, of Shoreline WA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gerri was an active part of both the Hodge and Creek family enjoying spending time with Bill's children Patricia Creek (deceased), Kathleen (Harvey) McLemore, Bellevue, WA; Scott (Karen) Creek, Seattle WA; Mark (Barbara) Creek, Renton WA; and James (Karen) Creek, Carnation WA. Bill had 5 children, 6 grand children, and 4 great great grandchildren. Both the Hodge and Creek families enjoyed spending summer holidays digging clams and shucking oysters at her beach property "The Diggins".
Gerri was known by all to be a hard worker and a staunchly devoted mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed volunteering for the Cancer Society, painting, crafts, dancing, playing cards, cooking, gardening, and her fruit trees. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.
A Rosary will be 7p.m., Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Buhl. The funeral mass will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 3 at the Church. Interment to follow at Buhl's West End Cemetery.
