Helen Anderson

November 4, 1935 — July 24, 2013

Helen Louise Anderson, 77 year old Buhl resident returned to her Heavenly Father, July 24, 2013. She passed away peacefully and quietly at home with her loving husband by her side.

Helen was born Nov. 4, 1935, in Buhl, the daughter of Fay Hunt and Nellie Louise Roberts Hunt. She was the fourth of seven children and was raised on the family farm in the Melon Valley area of Buhl. She graduated from Buhl High School in 1953 and shortly thereafter married Kenneth D. Hulse. Married life started in Buhl, and two daughters, Sherry and Carol were born. After a short stay in Oxnard, Calif., where Kenny was born, the family moved to Phoenix and then to Camp Verde, Ariz., where Lori and Craig were born. Following a divorce in 1965, Helen and children returned to Buhl to be close to family and friends. As a single mother of five, she sometimes worked 3 jobs at a time, whether it was cleaning homes, working at the Big Chief Drive In, or one of 20 corn packing seasons at Green Giant. She was an Avon representative for 27 years, and she enjoyed this line of work the most. She enjoyed working with all of her customers.

In the spring of 1974, Helen met and married her eternal companion, Larry Smith Anderson. They resided in the same home on 9th street for nearly 40 years. She enjoyed hosting family "get togethers" especially around the holidays. She enjoyed writing in her journal and kept immaculate records of life events and experiences. She also enjoyed many camping trips in the South Hills, but her greatest love was spending time with family and friends. She was a loving, kind and caring individual who always put the interests of others in front of her own. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and enjoyed serving the Lord in many different callings.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Hunt; and a sister Dixie Smith.

Helen is survived by her husband, Larry; stepmother Laura Hunt; sister Pauline Bigler; brothers Howard, Duane, and Jeff Hunt; her children Sherry (Dale) Gregersen of Rigby, Idaho, Carol (Randal) Stoker of Woodbridge, Virginia, Kenny (Ilene) Hulse of Buhl, Lori (Dennis) Baxter of Cody, Wyoming, Craig (Traci) Hulse of Crescent City, California; 23 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the Buhl LDS 1st Ward on Main Street with Bishop Nate Kelsey officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Farmer Funeral Chapel from 5 - 7pm, Monday, July 29, 2013 and then again on Tuesday morning at the church one hour prior to her service.

Even though, dementia stripped Helen of much of her mind and way of thinking, she still recognized, knew and loved her family and closest friends. Love and miss you Mom!

Arrangements are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Chapel of Buhl, Idaho.
