Helen Richter

March 5, 1932 — June 10, 2014

We are sad to announce the passing of Helen Louise Munger Richter in Buhl, Idaho on June 10, 2014, athe the age of 82.
Helen was born to Sidney Granis Munger and Dorothy Adelaide Hartmman Munger on March 5, 1932 in Sparks, Nevada. She grew up in Southern California and Galt, California.
Helen married Ben Richter on March 5, 1950, in Galt, California, where they reared their children. Helen belonged to the local Grange, the Rebecca's and St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She worked for 13+ years at the Department of Motor Vehicles (State of California), and then did medical transcribing in Twin Falls, Idaho, and in Lodi and Elk Grove, California.
Helen enjoyed hunting and camping, and she learned to use her specially designed rife to hunt deer. She learned about the dairy and farming. She also loved gardening and her beautiful flowers. Helen also made time to crochet: we all have beautiful and warm afghans from her hands, including grand- and great-grand children, as well as friends and donations to those in need.
Helen is survived by her children and their spouses, Barney (Jennifer) Richter of Melstone, Montana, Mary Richter of Sacramento, California, Walter (Gina) Richter of Galt, California, Louise (Bill) Norton of Rigby, Idaho, Victoria (Wayne) Allen of Birmingham, Alabama and Duke (Dani) Bonawitz of Wendell, Idaho; siblings, Rosalie Griffin of Fresno, California, Esther Langford of San Jose, California, Sid (Becky) Munger of Jonesborough, Tennessee, Nancy Burns of Modesto, California and Ruthie Hawkins of Modesto, California; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Ann (15) and brother, Bert Munger.
A memorial Service was held in Buhl, Idaho, on June 13, 2014, at 7:00 pm at the home of Helen Richter.
A memorial service will also be held in Galt, California, at a later date.
