Herbert Charles Caudill

March 21, 1934 — February 9, 2026

BUHL

Herbert Charles Caudill, 91, passed from this earthly life on February 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his wife and daughter.

Herb was born in Buhl, Idaho, on March 21, 1934, to Amos and Ethel Caudill. He grew up in Castleford and graduated from Castleford High School in 1952.

In 1956, he joined the United States Army and served in Germany as a radio specialist. He spoke often and fondly of his years of service, carrying with him a lifetime of stories and memories from that time.

On January 11, 1964, he married the love of his life, Sandy, in Reno, Nevada. Herb spent most of his adult life farming alongside his dad and working as a commercial painting contractor. He later finished his working career as a courier for Farmers Bank, a role he enjoyed immensely because it allowed him to visit with his bank friends each day.

Herb was active in the Buhl Masonic Lodge, El Korah Shrine, and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. As a Shriner, he faithfully organized the local food drive for the Salt Lake Shriners Children’s Hospital for many years, a service he took great pride in.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Ethel Caudill; and his sister, Ennice Weaver.

Herb is survived by his wife, Sandy; his daughter, Julie (Brian) Armes; granddaughters, Jennifer (Tim) Thompson, Abbie (Chris Lai) Armes, and Grace (Sean) Mitchell; great‑granddaughter, Charlotte; and his sister, Nancy Alo.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers who supported Herb in recent months, and to the neighbors and friends whose visits and kindness lifted his spirits.

A private family service has been held. Interment is at the Snake River Canyon National Cemetery in Buhl.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Herb's memorial webpage at www.farmerfuneralchapel.com
