It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Irene Shaffer, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Janet passed surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, kindness, and unwavering love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Janet’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a proud and loving mother to her children, Karen, Robert Jr., and Lynn, who meant everything to her. She dedicated her life to caring for those she loved, always offering comfort, encouragement, and unconditional support. Her family was the center of her world, and she made sure every person she loved knew how deeply they mattered.
She shared a beautiful and lasting love with her husband, Robert Shaffer. Together they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and countless treasured memories. Their bond was one of strength, loyalty, and enduring companionship.
Janet also shared a special lifelong bond with her brother, Fritz Mueller. Their relationship was filled with love, memories, and the comfort that only siblings can bring. Through every season of life, Fritz remained an important part of Janet’s heart, and the connection they shared was one she deeply treasured.
One of Janet’s greatest blessings was being a grandmother. She deeply loved her grandchildren, Jeremy, Tara, Lisa, Jennifer, Douglas, and Fiona, and treasured the time she spent with them. Whether through family gatherings, heartfelt conversations, shared laughter, or simply being present in their lives, Janet created memories that will be carried forever in their hearts. Her love for her grandchildren was unconditional, and she took immense pride in watching them grow and build lives of their own.
Becoming a great-grandmother brought Janet even more joy and pride. She adored Austin, Amanda, Ashley, Arielle, Cody, Robert, Logan, Krista, Hunter, Tegun, Anthony, Brianna, and loved watching the next generation of her family grow. Her gentle spirit, warm hugs, and loving heart made each of them feel special and deeply loved. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on through each of them for years to come.
Janet was also blessed to see the beginning of yet another generation as a proud great-great-grandmother to Reuben, Remington, Ellie-Mae, Violet, Arthur, and Delilah, with baby Marvin soon to arrive. Nothing made Janet smile more than seeing her family continue to grow. She cherished every new life added to the family and carried immense pride in the beautiful legacy of love that surrounded her.
Janet found joy in the simple and beautiful things in life. She loved getting lost in a good book, spending peaceful hours creating ceramics with her hands, and feeling close to the ocean, a place that brought her comfort and happiness. The sound of the waves and the beauty of the coast reflected the calm, gentle spirit she carried throughout her life.
To know Janet was to know warmth, compassion, and kindness. She had a caring heart, a gentle soul, and a quiet strength that touched everyone around her. Whether through a thoughtful conversation, a loving embrace, or simply her presence, Janet made people feel safe, valued, and loved.
Though her family’s hearts are broken by this loss, they find comfort in knowing her love will remain with them always. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, her beloved brother Fritz, and all those fortunate enough to have shared in her life.
Janet Irene Shaffer will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
