Janet Dean Simcoe, 93, formerly of Wendell, Idaho, passed away on June 11, 2026, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Janet was currently living in Scottsdale, Arizona, with her daughter, Marsha; son, Lonnie
and his life partner David at the time of her death.
Janet was born June 5,1933 in the Shoshone, Idaho, to Homer and Goldie Martin.
Janet graduated high school at Wendell, Idaho.
She worked early on at the Buhl Telephone Company. She then went to work at Highland High School cafeteria in Pocatello, Idaho, from which she retired.
Janet met Marshall when he came home on leave from the Navy. They were set up on a blind date and the date went well! Marshall returned to his duty with the Navy and as his next leave approached, he announced over the phone to Janet that he was coming home to marry her and the rest is history.
Janet married Marshall Simcoe on November 30,1952. Their wedding was the second to be conducted at the First Christian Church of Buhl, Idaho. That marriage lasted 67 years.
Janet was a member of the First Christian Church in Pocatello, Idaho. She raised four children who grew up to have their own families and as the babies multiplied, Janet reached a long-life dream.
Janet loved bowling, gardening, and working with her hands doing everything from crocheting to working the fields.
Janet loved a project and she usually had all the family involved, like painting your home, staining your decks, or landscaping your yard.
Janet loved road trips in their fifth wheel. They went to Arizona in the winter months and north into Montana for the summer months.
Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Simcoe; her parents; four sisters; one brother and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Simcoe.
Three sons survive Janet: Steve (Tamara), Mike (Jennifer) and Lonnie (David) and her daughter, Marsha. She had ten grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and twenty grand pup’s.
Janet will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Until we meet again…
