Jeris Anne Haskins

Jeris Eckert Haskins passed away peacefully on November 10, 2023. She was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on December 31, 1946, to Maurice and Velma Morse Eckert. Jeris spent her early years growing up in Buhl, Idaho before the family moved to the Magic Water farming project in 1956 that was being taken out of sagebrush. Jeris and her siblings learned to work hard from an early age in the harsh desert environment.

Jeris attended K-12 in Buhl schools and graduated from Beauty School the following year in 1966. Jeris spent most of her career working for Weyerhaeuser (Trus Joist) in Boise after having worked for Tempco, and for Rangen’s in Buhl.

Jeris loved her two children from her first marriage to Gary Laughlin. They were later divorced. Jeris’s daughter, Lisa Harvey, and son, Chad Laughlin, provided Jeris with four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Jeris later met the love of her life, Dave Haskins, in 1990, after meeting in Atlanta, Idaho. Jeris loved spending time in Atlanta exploring the wilds of the northwest. She loved wildlife, wildflowers, scenery, exploring, hiking, and camping. Jeris enjoyed genealogy, yard sales, antique stores, and her flower beds, but family was most important.

Jeris is survived by her brothers, Granville (Nancy) Eckert, Armand (Vicki) Eckert, and Norman (Rosi) Eckert; and stepbrother, Pat (Barbara) Elkin. Jeris loved her brothers dearly. Jeris is also survived by her husband, Dave; her children, Lisa (Todd) and Chad; four grandchildren, Aaron (Jenna), Kylie, Abbie and Aspen; and five great grandchildren, Ava, Elaina, Mason, Maddox, and Mylee; along with many nieces and nephews.

Jeris was preceded in death by her parents. She lost her mother at the very tender age of 12 and missed her dearly up to the day she passed away.

A viewing will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, Monday, November 20, 2023, at Farmer Funeral Chapel, 130 9^th Ave N, Buhl, with funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will conclude at West End Cemetery, 1574 E Elm St, Buhl. In honor of Jeris, please dress casually.
