JoAnn Coffman Mueller, a remarkable woman full of love and warmth, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 9, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on December 7, 1948, in Twin Falls, Idaho, JoAnn was a cherished daughter of Phyllis and Joseph Coffman. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many with her kindness, resilience, and unwavering spirit.
JoAnn’s educational journey began at American River College in Sacramento, California, and continued at Sierra College in Rocklin, California, where she earned multiple degrees. Her commitment to education was a testament to her belief in the importance of lifelong learning.
Her professional life was dedicated to her role as the Kitchen and Food Dining Service Manager at McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California, where she spent many years nurturing and feeding the minds of law students and faculty alike. JoAnn's work was defined by her meticulous attention to detail and her passion for service, qualities that endeared her to all who had the pleasure of working beside her.
JoAnn's greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her beloved children: Angela Mueller, Richard Mueller, Lisa Ryan, and Kristen Fors, who carry forward her legacy of love and strength. JoAnn was also a proud sister to Jan Moore and a doting grandmother to ten grandchildren, and a great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her loving spouse, Ed Mueller, and her stepdaughter, Brandee Wardlaw. Their memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved them. Ed will be placed with JoAnn at Wendell Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and team at Grace Assisted Living Care Memory Unit and her hospice team for the exceptional care provided to JoAnn during her time there. Your compassion and dedication made a significant difference in her life.
A graveside funeral service will be held to honor JoAnn’s life on Friday, January 23, 2026, 11:00 AM at Wendell Cemetery, 601 West Main Street, Wendell, Idaho, 83355.
