Julia Smither

May 17, 1936 — December 4, 2016

Julia Cordero Smither - Buhl
Julia Cordero Smither, our sweet mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on December 4th, 2016 with her loved ones at her side.

Julia was born May 17th, 1936 in Redlands, California to parents Leo Cordero and Sadie Ortiz. She was the second oldest of five children.
Julia grew up in Redlands, and after high school she worked in a packing warehouse, packing oranges from the nearby orange groves her father managed. Soon after, she met and married Herb White, and from this marriage she was blessed with three children - Herb, Diane, and Terry.

Julia and her small family packed up and moved to Idaho in 1969. After four years of living in Twin Falls, she and Herb were divorced, and Julia moved back to California.

After a few years of residing back in California, Julia was introduced to the love of her life, Jim. They were married May 20th, 1978 and with this marriage Julia gained two more children-Ed and James Jr.
Julia worked at La-Z-Boy furniture up until she retired, and she and Jim moved to Buhl, Idaho in 1993.

Julia spent her retired years doing all the things she loved. In the summertime, she loved to go yard saleing with her daughter, working out in the garden, and going fishing with Jim. In the winter, they packed up and headed south, spending time with her son Herb and his family in Arizona and with her son Terry in California. Jim and Julia were each other's best friends.

Without a doubt, Julia was the best grandmother the world has ever known. Her house was all of her grandchildren's favorite place to be. She had a playroom she kept full of dress-up clothes and toys, and always kept her kitchen stocked with treats. She loved each and every one of her grandkids with all of her heart, and they will miss her more than anything.

Julia is survived by her son, Herb (Valerie) White of Phoenix, Arizona, Clifford White (Mina) and grandbaby on the way of Denver, Colorado; Tina (John) Garcia, and great grandchild, Gabriel Garcia of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter Diane (Jeff) Holladay, and granddaughters Courtney and Shelby all of Buhl, Idaho; son, Terry White of Gooding, Idaho and grandson, Herbie White of Jerome, Idaho; son, Jamie Smither and grandson, Kael Smither of Beaumont, California; son, Ed Smither of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and grandchildren Hannah and Will Smither of Pacific Grove, California. She is reunited in Heaven with her husband Jim, both of her parents, and many other of her family members.

At Julia's request, there will be no funeral service. Her family will celebrate her life, on her birthday of this upcoming year.

We love and miss you already, Grandma.
