Larry Bruce Wright - Buhl
Larry was born February 7, 1953 in Denver Colorado to Don & Betty Lou Wright. He passed away on August 19, 2014 after a long courageous battle with melanoma. The Wright's moved to Idaho in 1956 and welcomed a baby sister, Carol, in 1957. Larry attended school in Twin Falls, but graduated from Buhl High School in 1971. After graduating high school Larry attended University of Idaho, Lambda Chi. He realized that he missed the farm and decided to return home, where he discovered his first love, Hannah Feriante. They had 2 beautiful children, Caleb & Lindsy. Even though it did not last, Larry and Hannah remained friends throughout the years. Years later, Larry fell in love with Shelly Nicholson. Together they had another lovely daughter, Jamie.
When Larry wasn't working on the family farm, you could easily find him hunting, sturgeon fishing, searching for arrowheads, or playing snooker with the boys. He also loved Louis L'amour books and watching Lonesome Dove. Larry loved to laugh, his fiery red hair matched his personality. He always tried to make the best of every situation with a grin on his face.
As a child, his mom and dad would load him & his sister up in the family pickup and go to Salmon River. Both kids would gripe and moan about this journey. However, in later years Larry became a proud member of the Salmon River Cattleman's Association. Even though his illness didn't allow him to farm any longer, he continued to look over it, with his girlfriend Jenni Tutor.
Larry is preceded in death by his grandparents: Leona & Dan Crafton, Sherm & May Wright, his father: Don C. Wright, as well as aunts and uncles. He is survived by his mother: Betty Lou Wilson (Harry), sister Carol Lugar (Larry), 3 children: Caleb Wright (Melissa), Lindsy Wright, and Jamie Gudmunson (Cody), 6 grandchildren: Quin, Cecilia & Jacqueline Wright, Maddison Miller, Kaiser & Mataya Gudmunson, multiple nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, many friends, and girlfriend Jenni Tutor.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the West End Cemetery in Buhl, Idaho. There will be a memorial gathering at Banbury Hot Springs directly following. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Buhl QRU or a charity of your choice in his name.
