Lauretta "Jean" McKay

Lauretta Jean McKay, better known as Jean McKay, passed away April 23, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones in Buhl, Idaho. Jean was born May 15, 1936 to Genevieve “Jenny” King and Roy Mock in Wyoming. 

Jean loved all, and found joy in so many art forms, from quilting, painting, learning calligraphy, leather work, bead work, gardening, canning, preserving traditions, music, to keeping in touch with family and making sure her neighbors and those she loved were well fed and caffeinated
and had a great smile from one of her most fantastic jokes. She will be so dearly missed by those who held her close, and those who have known the light she brought to any given situation.

Jean is survived by her sister, Bonnie of Arizona; son, George of Kentucky; grandchildren, Jessica of Colorado; Russell of Texas; Rainy of Idaho; and Cade of Idaho; great grandchildren, Morgan Jean of Kentucky; Leslie of Colorado; Emma of Colorado; Eva Jo of Colorado; Sophia of Texas; Zuri of Idaho; Amelia of Idaho; Rosie of Idaho; and Sage of Idaho. 

Per Jean’s wishes, there will be no formal service, but any gifts or donations sent to Hospice Visions, 104 Broadway Ave. S. Buhl, Idaho 83316, would be appreciated.
