Marian Swager

Marian Swager, 85, of Buhl, Passed away February 11, 2014 at the River Rock Care Center in Buhl.

She was born November 15, 1928 in Colton, South Dakota to Pete and Jennie Vander Wal. She was the fifth child in a family of seven children. In 1945, at the age of 16, she graduated from high school in Valley Springs, South Dakota. Shortly after, her family moved to Artesia, California. Her father was in the dairy business there.

In September 1947, she married Gerben Swager. Together they purchased and operated a dairy in Artesia, California and lived there until 1962. They then moved their family to Corona, California where the entire family operated their dairy there for 38 years. In 2000, they moved to Buhl, Idaho and bought a dairy and have been there ever since.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband Gerben, her parents, two sisters, four brothers and a grandson, Jeffrey Swager.

She is survived by her six children; son, John (Gertie) Swager of Portales, New Mexico; daughter, Carol (Tony) Visser of Gooding, Idaho; son, Dan(Laura) of Chino, California; son, Dale(Patricia) of Sunnyside, Washington; son, Dean(Deborah) of Buhl, Idaho; daughter, Joyce(Greg) Troost of Parma, Idaho; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014. A graveside service will be at 9 a.m. at the West End Cemetery in Buhl, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Twin Falls Reformed Church (1631 Grandview Dr. N.) in Twin Falls. A viewing will be 4 - 5 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Chapel (130 9th Ave. N.) in Buhl.
