Mary Evelyn Quinton, a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away surrounded by family on September 25, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born on July 18, 1947, in Vancouver, Washington, and brought up in White Sulphur Springs, Montana. At the age of 16, her family moved to Buhl, Idaho, where she would meet Mel Quinton and the two were married on January 11, 1969. They ultimately went their separate ways in life but remained lifelong friends.
Mary was a devoted professional in a variety of fields; working as a CNA at Harral's Nursing Home in Buhl, a blackjack dealer for Cactus Pete's Casino and eventually would hold various positions within St. Luke's Hospital in Twin Falls. She was an avid gardener, sewer, booklover and camper. Moreover, she found immense joy in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Katie Compher, son-in-law; Cory Hoover and daughter-in-law; Amy Quinton. Mary is survived by her children; Jerry Quinton, Brenda Hoover, Mila (Mark) Griggs and Matt Quinton, as well as her brothers; Bud (Donna) Compher and Ralph Compher; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, 1:00 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl.
