Myra Ann Lively was born November 28, 1937 in the small town of Torrington, Wyoming to Kenneth and Bernice Yorges. She passed away February 4, 2022 in Buhl, Idaho.
Myra went to school in Yoder, Wyoming through grade school, graduating high school in 1956, and continued her education at University of Wyoming. Myra was acquainted with Marvin Russell Lively through high school and they later married on February 9, 1958. They were five days short of being married 64 years. They married in the Presbyterian Church in Yoder, Wyoming. To this union they had four sons: Terry, Bryan, Kenny, and Mark.
Myra and Marvin lived on a ranch in Chadron, Nebraska and later moved to Buhl in December of 1966. Marvin joined the family Blacksmith Shop while Myra was a stay-at-home Mom. Myra went to work at Idaho Power in 1968. Myra was employed full time at Idaho Power till 1993 and part time for four more years, serving Idaho Power for 34 years.
Myra was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church. She was very involved in the church as a Sunday School teacher, secretary and also active with the National Women’s Presbyterian Association, traveling to many conferences near and far. Myra was an accomplished seamstress making many of her boys’ shirts as well as many of the grandkids’ Christmas gifts. She was a Den Mother to Cub Scouts and active with her sons in 4-H.
Myra and Marvin never missed a game or activity that her sons were involved in and later in life never missed the grandkids’ events. Marvin and Myra spent many years camping and snowmobiling with their lifelong friends. In 1982 they purchased a cabin in Fairfield, Idaho where many more years of wonderful memories were made with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Bernice; and brother, Bob Yorges. She is survived by her loving husband, Marvin Lively; her sister, Clara Lou Smith; brother, Earl Yorges of Wyoming; four sons, Terry Lively, Bryan (Ann) Lively, Kenny (Annette) Lively, and Mark (Ann) Lively all of Buhl; grandchildren, Kim Rickey, Kara Ambrose, Christopher and Michael Sermon, Jana Bettencourt, Ashely, Adam, Aaron, Steven, Markus, McKayla, Michael and McKenna Lively; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022, at First Christian Church, 1005 Poplar St. Buhl.
