Myrle Bowcutt

November 19, 1931 — June 7, 2013

Myrle Alma Bowcutt, 81, of Buhl, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Myrle was born in Tremonton, Utah on November 19, 1931 to Gurwin and Leola Bowcutt, the third of four children. In 1940, Myrle and his family moved to the Wood River Valley. He went to school in that area and graduated in 1950 from Hailey High School. After graduating High School he worked at the commissary in Sun Valley. During the evenings he also worked at the opera house.

It was during that time that he met the love of his life, Kay Dixon, who also worked in Sun Valley. They were then married on October 17, 1953 in Hailey. They were married four months short of 60 wonderful years.

That December, following their wedding, Myrle was drafted into the Army. He spent two years at Fort Lewis in Washington State. During this time of enlistment, a daughter, Malinda, was born. Upon leaving the military they returned to Ketchum, where they built their own home. Two more beautiful children were added to the family at this home, Steve and Lori.

Myrle worked his summers with the U.S. Forest Service and his winters as a Sun Valley ski bus driver. Later in 1961, he replaced his job with the Forest Service and began working at the Rhienhimer Ranch. He loved the work on the ranch and the cattle that he had. Myrle also built fireplaces, with the help of Kay, to make ends meet.

In 1996, with the stress of the area and declining health, not to mention, hating to see what was happening to their beloved valley, they made the move to the Melon Valley area. It was there that they lived until his passing.

Myrle loved the Outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and any occasional outing as long as he was able to bring home a load of wood for the winter.

He is no longer suffering and is sleeping, awaiting the call of his Lord Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Lavon and sister, Ruth

He is survived by his wife, Kay; his three children, Malinda (Mark) Moon, Steve, and Lori (Richard) Baldwin; four grandchildren, Justin, Kayla, Carly, and Kelsey; two great grandchildren and one sister, Maree.

John 5:28-29
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the memorial tombs shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.
