Nancy V. Zimmerman

Mar 26, 1947 — Aug 14, 2026

BUHL

A rich life’s journey ended for Nancy Zimmerman of Buhl on August 14, 2026.

Nancy was the oldest of nine children born to Tom and Virginia Hackett. Nancy was born in New Haven, Connecticut, but grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho, after moving there with her family as a small child. She married her second husband, Paul Zimmerman, in 1979 in Hailey, Idaho. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Colorado for Paul’s job with the U.S. Forest Service. Nancy spent her career working in corporate America in the field of health benefits administration.

Nancy and Paul retired in 1999 and returned to Idaho to build their dream home outside of Buhl, where they resided for the rest of their lives.

Nancy was a devoted member of her church, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Buhl, and had an extensive list of volunteer activities with the church. In 2008 she took an interest in a non-profit called Santa’s Cause, a local organization focused on providing Christmas gifts to foster children. This quickly became her passion project and continued to be for the rest of her life. She solicited donations from church members and spent months shopping for gifts and sewing doll clothes for the dolls. Her basement resembled Santa’s workshop all year long. Along the way, several friends and family members joined in to assist her with making incredible doll clothes and accessories.

Nancy’s husband Paul preceded her in death in 2021. She is survived by her daughter, Jill Nore of Arvada, Colorado; siblings: Anne (Paul) Niemsyk of Meridian, Idaho; Tracy (Todd) Blakeman of Boise, Idaho; Sean (Melissa) Hackett of Middleton, Idaho; Kevin Hackett of Boise, Idaho; family members: Beccie Hackett of Boise, Idaho; Barbara Hackett of Woodstock, Connecticut; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11 am, Friday, August 21, 2026, at West End Cemetery, 1574 E. Elm St., Buhl.
