Pearl Montgomery

March 23, 1932 — March 2, 2018

Pearl Imogene (Roberts) Montgomery, 85, of Buhl passed away peacefully at her home on March 2nd , 2018. Imogene was born on March 23rd, 1932 in Buhl, Idaho (Twin Falls County) to Lawson and Pearl Jane (Clark) Roberts. Imogene was the fifth of six children. Her family lived in the beautiful Melon Valley and attended the Buhl schools until she graduated in 1950 (where she had to walk up hill both ways.)

Imogene married Edward “Gene” Montgomery, on February 23, 1951, later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 25, 1957 as a family for eternity and were married 62 years. Gene and Imogene made their home in Buhl and were blessed with seven children, three daughters and four sons.
Imogene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she served in many ward and stake auxiliaries within the church. Imogene, along with Gene, served in the Boise Idaho temple for three years.

Our mother loved her Savior, Jesus Christ and was known as an “Angel of Charity.” She provided many meals, and was well known for her delicious food. She gave many hours of service and love to her family, friends, and neighbors which gave her great joy. Quote from mother: “I loved raising my children and cooking for them. I deeply enjoyed watching my boys playing football.”

The true love that she shared for her children and the lifetime of family memories, will always be dear to our hearts. Mom, you are all the beautiful things that a mother could be and you are loved by so many. The one lesson she taught us all was to be honest. We will miss you beyond words until we meet again.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, and her grand daughter Kimi Meitzner and great grand daughter Hannah Fritz.

She is survived by her children, Connie Montgomery, Kalynn (Bart) Butterfield, Toni (Charlie) Scanlon, Lon (Becky) Montgomery, Laytn (Leanne) Montgomery, Gene (Kaylin) Montgomery, Chad (Gretchen) Montgomery. She is blessed with many grand children, great grand children, great-great grand children.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Imogene’s life at a viewing March 6 from 6 to 8 pm at Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl. Wednesday 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on March 7, 2018 at the LDS chapel on Fair Street in Buhl. The services will conclude for our mother with the burial at the West End Cemetery in Buhl. Funeral services are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Chapel of Buhl.
