Richard Zwart

November 26, 1956 — April 29, 2025

BUHL

Richard “Rick” Zwart passed away on April 29, 2025, at his home in Buhl, Idaho with his loving wife by his side. Rick was born on November 26, 1956, to Harry and Liz Zwart in Johnson City, New York. He was the oldest of three children.

After graduating from Johnson City High School in 1974, Rick attended Utah State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Agriculture. He joined the family business, Riverside Gardens, where he worked for many years. When the business closed Rick became a driver for FedEx Freight, a job he really enjoyed. He retired in 2019 and spent several years traveling the United States with his wife Laureen and their pets. Their travels took them across the country several times and Rick and Laureen became true “RVers”.

Rick was a gentle man of integrity and good spirit. His loves included his beloved wife Laureen, his many dogs over the years and his fondness for the open road and adventure ahead. He had a sharp mind for trivia and enjoyed reading. He will be missed by many and left a light, but lasting impact on all he touched.

The family would like to thank St Luke’s Hospice for their wonderful care and will be forever grateful for the respect given to Rick during this difficult time. They would also like to thank Farmer Funeral Chapel for their excellent care and service.

Rick is survived by his wife, Laureen Lacey; children, Allison Zwart and Chris (Erica) Zwart; two grandchildren; sisters, Patty (Mark) Lo Vuolo and their four children, and Linda Zwart; two stepchildren, Crystal (Jim) Foux; and three grandchildren, Alicia (Jason) Stokes with two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

There will not be a funeral service but please visit www.farmerfuneral chapel.com and leave a favorite memory of Rick.
