Robert M. Sosa

Robert M. Sosa, age 61, passed away on September 17, 2026, in Alaska.

Born on April 24, 1965, to Margarito and Darlene Sosa, Robert grew up living in and exploring several states in the western United States as one of eight children. He was a man of many talents, skills and interests who refused to be defined by a single path. Throughout his life, he brought an adventurous spirit and a strong work ethic to a wide variety of pursuits and varied vocations including law enforcement and engineering. Outside of work, Robert was a lifelong music lover and listened to all genres. Robert loved to make people smile and was a master at making friends wherever he went. He had a passion for animals and rescued all that he could. His biggest passion was his family, of whom he was immensely proud. He never missed an opportunity to talk about them and especially enjoyed sharing about his 9 children.

In 2019, Robert married Marlana and together, they built a home filled with music, doted upon rescue animals, and shared lots of laughter and love.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Marlana; his children, Chris (Jeanette) Sosa, Casey (Brittnay) Sosa, Amber (Bruce) Thompson, Jerrika Phelps, Candice (Dylan)Prewitt, Kenny (Sylvia)Nield, and Michael (Bethany)Corder, his 22 grandchildren and siblings, Hector, Margarito Jr., Julie, Gloria and Richard.

Robert was proceeded in death by his oldest and youngest daughters, Sheena and Rachael; his parents, Margarito and Darlene and his siblings, Julio Sosa and Delia Monty.

Robert’s funeral service will be held at Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl, Idaho on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 1:00 pm with the graveside service following immediately afterwards. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 12-1.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a local foster care program, animal shelter/rescue program or a local food bank in Robert’s name.
