Roger Evans

Roger Dale Evans, 66, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls, Idaho, from complications of an extended health condition. He went peacefully to our Heavenly Father surrounded by his loved ones.
Roger was born March 10, 1948, in Twin Falls, to John and Gertrude Evans. He attended school in Buhl and, while in high school, he worked in his parents' gas station. He went from there into the Army and served 18 months in Vietnam and four years reserve.

When Roger was 21, he worked with a friend hauling hay. They stopped in Roberts, Idaho, to eat at a cafe and that is where he met Pearl Peterson, whom he married in 1969. During their marriage, they lived in Buhl and had three daughters; later they divorced. In 1985, he met Linda Jensen and her two children. They married in 1992 and remained together until his death.

Roger enjoyed bowling and pitching horseshoes. He was the state champion for two years. From 1994-2011, he and his wife, Linda, were 4-H leaders. They also raised dairy goats and had a few horses and dogs.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude; and son-in-law, Robert Simon.

He is survived by his two brothers, Larry (Dee) Evans and Milton (Doris) Evans; and Roger's children and grandchildren, Patricia (Bruce) and children, Luke, Madison Henry; Ranee and children, Nathan, Matthew Simon; and Paula (Chris) and children, Tyeler, Austin, Paige, Shelby, Hunter Thompson; and Dean (Monica) and children, Miriam, Zoey, Colby Jensen, Aisa and Roger; and Candy Evans.

A viewing will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Farmer Funeral Chapel, 130 Ninth Ave. N. in Buhl, Idaho. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the First Christian Church, 1005 Poplar St. (Broadway) in Buhl, followed by a graveside service with military honors at Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to any First Federal Bank to the Roger Evans Funeral Fund.
