Roy H. Murphy

Roy H. Murphy went to meet the Lord at his home early Monday morning, February 6, 2023, at the age of 75. He was born July 25, 1947, in Nebraska City, Nebraska. He was the second of six children born to Nelson and Della Murphy. He was also raised with a cousin.

Roy attended school through the eighth grade and later joined the Army, serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. After being discharged he moved to Buhl, Idaho where he met and married his wife of 55 years, Nancy, on November 5, 1967. They then moved to Boise, Idaho where the military paid for on-the-job training for him to become an autobody technician. They later had two children.

Roy and Nancy moved back to the Buhl area in 1975 where he continued working as an autobody technician while running a small farm and dairy. He was an avid outdoorsman participating mainly in fishing, hunting, and collecting rocks. He loved doing all of this with his wife and their grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Della Murphy; and one sister, Linda Clark. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Nancy Jane (Craig) Stevens; son, Shane (Jennifer) Murphy; seven grandchildren, Shalena, Shane Jr, Chauntelle, Shandrea, Steven, Melissa, and Aaron; three step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Holly, and Erika; six great-grandchildren; his two brothers, Nelson “Tom” and John “App”; two sisters, Cindy and Brenda; and also the cousin he was raised with, John “Bow”.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Twin Falls Reformed Church, 1631 Grandview Dr. North, Twin Falls. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 13, 2023, at West End Cemetery, 1574 East 4150 North, Buhl.
