Ruth Cook

January 28, 1933 — September 29, 2014

Ruth Ann Cook went to live with her Heavenly Father on September 29, 2014.

She was born on January 28, 1933 in Hastings, Nebraska to Frank Ernest Shaw and Hazel Verline Madron. Her family moved from Hastings to Prosser, Washington while in her youth, where they started a dairy farm. She later worked for the Umatilla Army Base Hospital where she met and married Max Danos. They moved to Twin Falls County and settled in Filer where they raised their 5 children on the dairy farm they started. Her and Max later divorced. Ruth remarried in 1981 to Roy Cook.

Ruth resided at Bridgeview Estates. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She retired from the College of Southern Idaho as a secretary for the Center of New Directions. She never complained about the hard work that raising a family and working on a dairy and dirt land farming required. She loved to cook and can fruits and vegetables, but mostly she loved being around the cows.

She had a great love for her family. Her husband Roy Cook; her brother, Norman Shaw and her great-grandson, Cameron Patrick Reed, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Laura (Dennis) Shelley of Melba, Idaho, Linda (Rod) Childers, of Enterprise, Oregon, Mary Tinoco, Dan (Kandra) Danos and Pat (Christine) Danos of Jerome, Idaho; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl, Idaho. A viewing will be 10-11:00 am, prior to the service in the Chapel. Interment will follow the service at the West End Cemetery in Buhl.
