BOISE

Shirley Rae Person passed away on April 29, 2024.

Shirley was born on May 21, 1937, to Virgil and Elsie Bowman, and had two brothers, Ernest Bowman and Virgil Lester Bowman.

Shirley went to business school and became a court reporter and commodities clerk for the state of Idaho. She married Sergeant Henry Person (USAF) and they traveled together with their children until his retirement. Together they established a realty business called Floating Feather Realty.

Shirley and Henry had many wonderful years together, as well as three children, Kevin Owen (deceased), Trudi Ray (Sundin), and Kristin Person Staley.

Shirley’s family and church were her cornerstone. Her Bible study group, and her cousins from Switzerland, Heidi, and Tony Bishoff, were well known in the community for helping others. Henry and Shirley helped establish Maranatha Christian School and she also taught 4H where she shared her baking and sewing skills.

In 1989, Shirley opened the Herb Tree, a health and nutrition store in Meridian, Idaho. Her knowledge and ability to understand assisted many people with living healthier lives, with a more natural approach.

Shirley leaves behind her two daughters; nine grandchildren; and nieces and nephews too numerous to list. We will remember her love for animals.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the First Christian Church, 1005 Poplar St, Buhl. Burial will conclude at the West End Cemetery, 1574 E Elm St, Buhl.
