Steven Nelson Harp, beloved husband, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, at Canyons Senior Living in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Steven was born on September 21, 1937, in Marble, Arkansas. He lived in the Dean and Berryville, Arkansas area with his family and nine brothers and sisters until he was 15, at which time he came to Buhl, Idaho, to live with his aunt and uncle, Julia and Carson Harp, who welcomed him into their home with love. Steven became part of their family and also a lifelong friend to Dale Hopwood and family.
At 17, Steven proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving his country until his honorable discharge. He often spoke fondly of his time in the service, including his memorable duty assignment to the North Pole.
After his discharge, he returned to Buhl, where he farmed and operated a dairy. He later worked for PET Milk and Land O'Lakes in maintenance until his retirement.
After retirement, Steven and his wife enjoyed traveling in their RV. His favorite hobbies were fishing and hunting.
Steven is survived by his wife of 36 years, Margaret Myers; his daughter, Shanan Smock of Nampa, Idaho; three stepchildren, Eric Myers, Cathy Adams and Cheryl Hallum; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Dwayne.
A military graveside service will be held at Snake River Canyon National Cemetery, 1585 East Elm Street, Buhl, Idaho on September 26, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Farmer Funeral Chapel and the VA.
Steven will always be remembered as a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather and friend.
