Thomas Lynn Henson, 73, of Kimberly, Idaho passed away on April17,2026 at Serenity Transitional Care.
Tom was born in Sikeston, Missouri on May 23, 1952, to Love Henson and Sue Wright Henson. Tom was the second of seven children.
As a child, he traveled between Missouri and Idaho with his family and settled in Idaho as a young adult. He joined the United States Air Force and served from 1970 to 1975. He was stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Cannon Air Force Base, spent time at Johnson Island in the North Pacific and later was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas to finish out his military career.
He married his first wife, Rita, in 1972, they later divorced. He married Sandy Maritt in 1983, they also later divorced. He loved and adopted Brian and Shelly in 1985.
He was a truck driver or dispatcher most of his life and made many friends throughout the years. He always had many stories to tell (although some probably should not have been repeated).
In his fifty plus working years he drove for many companies but to name a few, Steve Wolters, Gary Amoth and Tim Griffith were not just employers, they were friends.
He loved singing in the bars and he loved the ladies! Tom was a very kind and generous man and will be missed by many.
Tom was preceded in death by his father and mother; baby brother, Mike Henson; baby sister, Judy Henson; nephew, Josh Reynolds and niece, Rachele King Schmoe.
He is survived by his kids, Brian (Dee) of Nampa and their children, Dylan and Cameron; Michelle (Eric) of Twin Falls and her children, Travis and Trayvin; stepson, Mark (Kristin) Welch of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; his sisters, Sheila King of Twin Falls; Teri (Gary) Wilson of Twin Falls; and Diane Vulgamore (Brigg) of Castleford and his best sidekick and nephew, Bill Reynolds, who took care of him for 2 ½ years of his life. (I couldn’t have survived without him!)
Tom has many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews who all loved him tremendously.
At Tom’s request, there will be no service but there will be a Celebration of Life with Military Honors at a later date.
Memories and condolences may be shared on Thomas’ memorial webpage at farmerfuneralchapel.com.
