Yvonne Grace Leppert (Hull) was ushered into the arms of Jesus on April 4, 2026, in Boise, Idaho, surrounded by family, her husband of nearly 60 years, and under the watchful care of her Lord and Savior. Born July 19, 1946, in Vancouver, Washington, to Calvin and Lela Hull, Yvonne lived in Washington and Iowa as a young child. They moved to Greenleaf, Idaho, when Yvonne was 9 years old, so she and her two older sisters could attend Greenleaf Friends Academy.
Yvonne met George Leppert in high school, and the two dated during her last year. They continued dating as she spent a year attending George Fox College, and then Links School of Business in Boise, before they married in August of 1966. Yvonne put her business school experience to good use, as George was known to say he earned a Master’s degree without ever having typed a single letter or paper, since Mom did all his typing. Their early married years were spent at Jennings Lodge in Oregon while George attended Western Evangelical Seminary. Following seminary, they moved to Lima, Ohio, where George began his pastoral ministry with Yvonne faithfully by his side. They also ministered full-time in Newport, Washington; Freeman, South Dakota; Perryton, Texas; and lastly, Filer, Idaho, where they remained until they retired.
Yvonne worked for many years as a cashier at Target in Twin Falls, Idaho, where she was known for her quick check-out speed and for always greeting everyone with a warm smile and friendly face.
Yvonne enjoyed reading and word search puzzles, and was seldom found without either within reach. She was an accomplished pianist and church organist (although she preferred the piano), and on occasion could be coaxed into singing special music at church.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, her twin brother David, who died as a newborn infant, and her sisters, Sherrill Comfort and Myrlene Rourke. She is survived by her husband, George; sons, David, Dan, and Jake; daughters Nancy Waltner and Betty; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
Memorial service and following fellowship will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Farmer Funeral Chapel, 130 9th Ave N, Buhl, ID.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Yvonne’s memorial webpage at www.farmerfuneralchapel.com.
