Zane Dylan Whitney passed away unexpectedly in Filer, Idaho on February 12, 2021. Zane was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on March 29, 1997 to Dylan Whitney and Holli Gartner. He was the oldest of five siblings.
When Zane would walk into a room, his presence was immediately known. He had a gift of storytelling and had an amazing sense of humor; he could easily get the whole room laughing. He was someone who was definitely unforgettable once you met him. He had a huge heart and was always loyal and protective of those he loved. He loved the country life and the outdoors. He was full of life and personality, and his energy was infectious. As quoted by his best friend Tyler James, “You are a star, and you made this place a little brighter.”
In 2016, his son Danny was born. The way Zane looked at him, you could see the love shine through his eyes. He was truly proud that he was a father and truly proud of his son – the light of his life. They would spend countless hours fishing and tracking and sharing his love for the outdoors. He wanted to ensure that Danny knew the importance of family and the things in life that really matter.
He was living in Filer and working alongside his father and uncle, Daniel Whitney, at Maloney Construction with Matt and Mike Maloney, and Justin Sheen. He was well loved by the crew.
He is survived by his son, Daniel Alexander Whitney; his parents, Dylan (Kiele) Whitney and Holli Gartner (Jeremiah Stinson); his brothers, Isaac Johnson-Whitney, Davis Whitney, and Caden Gartner; sister, Anabella Whitney; his grandparents, Barbara Gartner, Shane and Terri Whitney, Marvin and Mary Jo Gartner, CJ and Jodie Johnson, and Lori Davis; and his great-grandfather, Dan Whitney. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 26, 2021 at Calvary Chapel, 1004 Burley Ave. Buhl.
