Glenn S. Nelson passed away on April 26, 2022 to be with the Lord. He was born February 10, 1927 in Tyrone, Oklahoma to Charley and Myrtle Nelson. Glenn was a loving husband to Devonna “Dee” and father to Ron and Julie Nelson all of them from Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.
Glenn served in the 82nd Airborne in the Korean War from 1948 to 1955. His tour of duty included Anchorage, Alaska. Glenn accomplished many things in the service such as: helping build Ft. Elmendorf Air Force Base, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, good conduct medal award, sharpshooter badge with the rifle, and expert badge with carbine, foing to jump school in Ft. Bragg N. Carolina, and attending mountain climbing school in Fairbanks, Alaska. Glenn was honorably discharged as Senior Sergeant.
Glenn lived in many different locations doing many different professions throughout his life. He finally settled down in Buhl. Glenn and Dee worked for the Buhl School District for many years while also developing a small cattle ranch just outside of town.
